Visa

To enter the country, Brazil follows the principle of reciprocity. A Tourist Visa (VITUR) is required for residents of countries that, in turn, require it for Brazilian citizens.

A Tourist Visa is not required for residents of countries belonging to Mercosur and the European Union for stays of up to 90 days.

As of April 2025, a Tourist Visa will be required for residents of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan and Australia. You can apply for your e-visa at https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/information, where you will also find more information.

If you have any questions about whether you need a Tourist Visa to enter Brazil, contact the Brazilian Consulate in your country.

Visa and Vaccination

Vaccination

Proof of vaccination is not required to enter Brazil, but it is highly recommended that your vaccination status is up to date.

If you intend to travel to regions with a high incidence of certain diseases, such as Yellow Fever (the Amazon, for example), it is especially important that you get vaccinated at least 10 days before your trip.
